How not to have a carpet Horror Show!!!

an image of carpet cleaning with text overlay

This time of year there tends to be a huge spike in carpet cleaning. This is for a variety of reasons; So what’s the best way to get common stains out of your carpet? Many carpets these days come ‘family-ready’, which means they are bleach cleanable! They come in all colours and textures and we have a huge amount of these types of carpet on display in our Worthing and Storrington showrooms. These flooring wonders can take a hammering from young children and muddy pets, so if you know that you have bleach-cleanable carpets then you can use most domestic cleaning products to get the stain out. However, we always recommend reading the product label and following the instructions before using them. If, however, you’re not sure, whether your carpet is bleach cleanable then you will need the following three things: some warm soapy water, a clean dishcloth or scrubbing brush and some kitchen roll Of course some  stains are more stubborn and in these cases it might be best to either hire in a professional carpet cleaning machine or a reputable carpet cleaning company. These can be especially effective if you have large or high traffic areas of carpet that needs cleaning such as the hall, stairs and landing or a through lounge-dining room.  In our experience, most stains do come out of carpets with a little elbow grease most of the time. Halloween buffets can be very colourful, so do take care with those and also with the mulled wine and the berry cheesecake at the big family Christmas dinner too! 3 Reasons Why Now Is The Perfect Time To Get New Flooring

Stripy carpet in a grand hallway. Carpet available from Wall Bros in Worthing and Storring

As the days grow longer and the weather warmer, many homeowners start thinking about home improvement projects. While summer is often associated with holidays and outdoor activities, it is also an ideal time to complete indoor renovations, particularly flooring, as you can be outside on the day it’s being done. Here are our top three reasons why summer is the perfect season to invest in new flooring for your home. Better weather We’ll start with the most obvious one! Better weather provides a better environment to install flooring for a number of reasons. Materials such as hardwood, laminate, and even carpet benefit from low humidity levels, which help prevent warping, swelling, and other moisture-related issues.  Also, adhesives used in flooring installations cure more effectively in warm weather, ensuring a more secure and lasting fit. Not to mention that you can also have windows and doors open to ensure that any temporary fumes created from installing the flooring can dissipate quicker. You can see what needs the most attention With improved light (and more of it) flooding in through windows, you’ll be able to notice which areas of your home need the most attention. We find that customers tend to notice marks on their flooring in Summer that went unnoticed in the darker months.  While it’s easier to make quick improvements to your home, the flooring can have the biggest impact of all. It’s also the aspect of your home that sees the most wear and tear so making sure you prioritise the areas that need the most attention is important. We have a Floorspiration Hub that has lots of stunning photos to give you some flooring inspiration for all areas of your home. Enjoying your new flooring Finally, one of the most rewarding aspects of installing new flooring in the summer is that you can make the most of it. With children out of school and more time spent at home, summer provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy the comfort and beauty of your new flooring. Whether you’re hosting a barbecue, having a family movie night, or simply relaxing at home, new flooring can enhance your overall experience. Whether you’re looking for new hard flooring or carpet, we have a huge range to see at both our Worthing and Storrington showrooms. We always encourage customers to come in to see our ranges for themselves so that they can make a better decision (more on this in one our previous blog posts). By visiting one of our showrooms, you also have the opportunity to speak to our friendly team of flooring experts. With years of experience, they’re on hand to help you choose the right flooring for you.  Customers often bring a curtain sample or cushion cover in so we can match flooring to soft furnishings and as we mentioned, we also have a Floorspiration Hub so that you can get some ideas before coming in to see us. You can also show the photos you see on our website to our experts who will be able to take you to the flooring shown, or something very similar. We look forward to seeing you soon!

New year, new flooring? 3 Signs It’s Time For New Carpet

New Year, New Flooring? 3 Signs It's Time For New Carpet

The new year is all about new beginnings and making changes in our lives to make the new year a better one. While we have a lot of blog posts about the benefits of carpet, what to look for when you’re buying a new one etc, we haven’t really spoken about how you know when it’s time to replace it. So we’re going to change that today – think of it as our new year’s resolution! How often should I replace my carpet? To be completely honest, there’s no set answer to that as all carpet is different and will last for different lengths of time depending on a variety of factors. These include, but are not limited to: Generally, carpet has a lifespan of between 5-15 years so it really is up to you to decide whether you think you need new carpet. Which is why it’s best to look out for tell tale signs that your carpet may be on its way out.  3 Signs It’s Time to Replace Your Carpet We’ve compiled a list of the top three signs it’s time for a new carpet. Remember that if you’re not sure, you’re always welcome to speak to our experts in Worthing or Storrington who will be able to give you their honest and non-obligatory advice.  Here’s our top three signs to look for: 1. You can see the route people have taken on it One of the easiest things to spot in carpet is the track marks that form when people have walked on the same part of the carpet for many years. These could simply be trails of flattened carpet or even slightly dirty tracks. Clearly indicating the route people have taken on it. For example; from the living room door to the sofa.  Of course, you can get your carpet professionally cleaned, but if you can see the carpet is visibly worn, it’s most likely time to get a new one. If you decide to get a new one because of the signs of wear, it might be worth looking at more heavy-wear options. It could be that the current carpet just isn’t up for coping with the high traffic it gets. 2. Your allergies are playing up We know this seems unrelated, but you’ll be surprised to learn that your carpet could be the reason your allergies are worse than they usually are. At this time of year especially, it may be noticeable that your allergies are worse than they should be.  You could keep your carpet absolutely spotless, but, over time, allergens can build up in the fibres of the carpet. The older the carpet is, the more difficult it is to remove them. Think of it like a mop – even though you clean the mop after every use, over time, it becomes dirty and you need to replace it. It’s the same for your carpet.  The good news is that wool carpets are naturally hypoallergenic so, if you or your family suffer from allergies, it might be worth considering a carpet made from wool.  3. The house feels colder As carpets get older, they can lose their thickness and this can have an affect on how warm your home is. Newer carpet offers more warmth in the form of thicker piles and so if you’ve noticed your home is colder, or it takes longer to warm up, it could be a sign that a new carpet is needed. Depending on how long ago you bought carpet, you might be surprised by just how far the carpet industry has come in recent years. Now, there are plenty of style options available and types of carpet that come with their own benefits. That being said, we don’t want you to feel overwhelmed and invite you to our Worthing or Storrington showroom to see different types of carpet for yourself. You’ll also be able to speak to our friendly flooring experts and ask them any questions you may have. Find out more about the benefits of coming to one of our showrooms here. You may even find that replacing your old carpet with more carpet isn’t the best option and our experts are here to help you find out what is.

Some Things Are Just Better In Person

Some things are just better in person

One of the things we love about flooring is that it is so tangible. Just like most things that you buy for your home, it’s something that you want to be able to get your hands on and see in-person before deciding to buy it. This is why we always recommend that people come into our Worthing or Storrington showrooms to see our flooring displays ‘in real life’. Here’s some other reasons why it’s a good idea to visit our showroom: Touch the different types of flooring Unlike most products you buy, flooring is something that you will feel every day when you walk on it, sometimes in bare feet. This is especially true for areas of the house where you relax such as your bedroom or the bathroom. So it’s always great to be able to feel the flooring before you make a decision, your sense of touch will enable you to feel the quality and softness of the fibres in our carpets and also the texture in our hard flooring.  Flooring that you really like the look of online may have a texture that you don’t like. Our flooring experts can help you find an alternative that may prove better than your original choice. We have thousands of samples you can see and feel before purchasing. See the flooring in person While you can of course see flooring online, it’s worth noting that you shouldn’t believe everything you see. At the end of the day, the flooring photos you see online have been created to sell the flooring. The room the flooring is in will have been meticulously designed; making sure to accentuate its features.  In addition, the studio lighting and the editing of the photo can all enhance colour and texture. So of course all the flooring is going to look easy on the eyes. That’s not to say that it won’t look the same in your home, but just be mindful that flooring on your screen may not look the same in person. Make sure the flooring is the right colour Along the same vein as the last point, the colour of the flooring may be different in-person to how it looks on a screen. This can be for a number of reasons; from the editing and lighting of the photo, through to how your screen displays colours.  So it’s always a good idea to see the flooring you like the look of in person so make sure that it’s absolutely the colour you like. We often hear comments like, ‘it’s a lot lighter than I thought’ or ‘seeing it now, I don’t know if that would go in the kitchen’ in our showrooms. We can then find shades that do match furnishings and even paint samples. The last thing you want is to have flooring delivered to your house that’s a few shades from what you thought it was. Speak to our friendly team of flooring experts Visiting one of our showrooms will mean that you can speak to our award-winning team of experts. We pride ourselves on our fantastic customer service and are so pleased to receive really positive feedback from customers. One of our recent reviews read, “Always Superb. Why Invest In Quality Flooring?

Why invest in quality flooring

With the cost of living on the rise, you might be tempted to scrimp and save on your new flooring, but here’s why that’s not a good idea… As flooring experts, we’re always more than happy to answer questions about which flooring is best for them. There are many factors to consider when choosing the best option.  In addition, there are different reasons for not compromising on the quality of your flooring. With the cost of living on the rise, people are working with tighter budgets and, if in need of new flooring, may think that the cheapest option will be okay. But this isn’t the case and here are a few reasons why: Durability We’ll start with one of the most obvious ones – durability. Just like most things, investing in a better quality product will generally mean that it will last longer. Which is exactly the case for flooring.  A high quality carpet will be more densely packed with stronger or softer fibres depending on the flooring need. Budget vs Higher End Carpet We stock a huge range of carpets at both our Worthing and Storrington showrooms and each has a different price tag. While it can be tempting to choose the cheaper option, a more expensive carpet has a few better features:  Better Materials As we’ve touched on when talking about carpets, not compromising on price will mean that the materials your flooring is made of will be better quality. Making your flooring last longer and also look more luxurious. In fact, some materials – like wood – can actually look better over time. With any scuffs adding to their look.  One of the highest quality carpet materials is also the original  – wool. Not only is it really durable, it’s resistant to dust mite and allergens. Making it a fantastic choice for people who suffer from allergies. So there are more benefits to higher quality materials than just that they look and feel better. More comfort It almost goes without saying, but the better quality your flooring is, the nicer it will feel underfoot. Even hard flooring, like Luxury Vinyl Tiles, can feel soft and warm underfoot when using the right underlay.  Furthermore, did you know that  choosing flooring that feels pleasant to walk on can actually help with foot and back problems as it promotes feelings of relaxation and comfort  as well as good weight distribution. Underlay We’ve spoken about the benefit of good underlay before, but it is certainly something that people overlook and may be inclined to opt for a cheaper alternative.  It’s something that can’t be seen under the chosen flooring, but good underlay can make your flooring feel even better. In fact, with the addition of good underlay and even underfloor heating, your hard floor can feel delightful after a long day on your feet. Another thing that having a good underlay can help with is making the flooring last longer. Mainly due to it taking the impact of footprints out of the flooring, decreasing the wear and tear. It’s thought that investing in good underlay can increase the lifespan of your flooring by 30-50%! In most cases, we would actually advise that if you do want to opt for a lower budget flooring, it’s best to invest in a good underlay. To make the flooring go further – both in its lifespan and in the way it feels underfoot. If you are thinking about getting new flooring, our friendly team of flooring experts are more than happy to help. Whatever your budget, or whatever you’re looking for, we’re sure that we can help. With showrooms in Worthing and Storrington, we have hundreds of ranges of carpets, laminates, LVT and wood and many that are exclusive to us too! Spring Flooring Trends 2023

The UK flooring industry is always evolving and changing with the seasons, and this spring is no different. With the changing weather and the desire for more natural and sustainable materials, the trends are shifting towards eco-friendly flooring options. For both homes and businesses, the trend is leaning towards natural materials, muted colours, and a focus on sustainability. For homes, natural materials such as hardwood and wool are becoming increasingly popular. Hardwood has a timeless look that adds a touch of class and sophistication to any home, while wool is the original sustainable option for carpet. Both materials are available in a multitude of patterns, shades and colours, allowing homeowners to choose the right flooring to match their décor.  Furthermore, our award winning team of experts is on hand to guide you through all of our flooring options. We have thousands of examples on display that you can see and touch. In addition, we welcome clients who bring in soft furnishings or paint swatches to make sure colours contrast or match well.  In terms of colour, muted tones and earthy hues are all the rage this spring. Shades such as beige, grey, and light brown are perfect for creating a calming atmosphere, while brighter colours like yellow, blue, and green can add a pop of colour to a room. For a more modern look, metallic shades and highlights are also popular. For businesses, there is a growing focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility. Hardwearing recycled materials are becoming increasingly popular due to their durability and low impact on the environment. In terms of colour, neutral shades are still popular, but brighter colours are also becoming more common, allowing businesses to make a statement with their flooring. No matter what kind of flooring you’re looking for, there’s something for everyone this spring. Natural materials, muted colours, and sustainable options are all trending, creating an eco-friendly atmosphere that is perfect for any home or business. Choosing The Right Flooring: Our 2023 Quick Guide

New year, new floor? Here’s what you need to know Getting new flooring is a great way to give your home a fresh new look and the beginning of a new year is a great excuse to do just that. So, if you are looking for new flooring, our  experts have put together a quick guide which tells you everything you need to know about choosing the right flooring to suit your needs.  Don’t forget that this is just a quick guide. Our friendly flooring experts are available to give you more help at both our Worthing and Storrington showroom. What goes with what? One of the first things you’ll be thinking about when considering new flooring is what type of flooring goes with the interior you have. Whether you’re keeping it the same or planning to change the interior, the flooring needs to match or complement it.  We’ve referred to ourselves as the ground workers of interior design before and this is because flooring works to tie everything in the room together. Choosing flooring that does just that is important to the overall look and feel of your home. So, what can you do to make sure things go well together? Here’s a quick look at what colours go with the staples of the flooring world: Wood flooring The great thing about wood flooring is that it pairs very nicely with a huge range of other textures. Including leather, fabrics and painted surfaces. So, more often than not, there will be wood flooring that goes well with the interior you already have or the one you’re planning to have. Wood also goes well with both modern and classic interior decor styling. What’s more, wood flooring comes in a variety of colours so you can choose whether to get one that matches your home. Or one that complements it instead.  Grey carpet Grey is a hugely popular choice for carpet and has been for many years due to its versatility. As grey is a neutral colour, it can be paired with almost anything to tie a room together. Some of the best pairings though are blues, greens and pinks.  It’s important to think about the properties of the carpet when you’re purchasing it. Even though you’ve decided on a colour, there are lots of other things to consider too. Such as how durable you want it to be as well as how easy to clean. So make sure you pop into our Worthing or Storrington showroom to speak to our expert team who will be more than happy to help you with which carpet to go for.  Think about where the new flooring is going Even if you’re going to be re-flooring your entire home, you need to think about the individual requirements  in each room the flooring is going. In this day and age, there are so many different flooring options and each has its benefits in different areas of the house.  For example; carpet can be used in the majority of a home and, in fact, there are so many different types of carpet that it would be possible to use a slightly different one in each room. Having said that, you wouldn’t want to put carpet in the kitchen or bathroom because these areas are likely to get wet. Instead, you’ll want to opt for hard flooring such as vinyl flooring which is not only really durable, it’s waterproof and easy to clean too. Taking it a step further, you will need to consider how busy each area of your home is. For example; you’ll want to ensure you have durable flooring in a busy part of the house like the hallway as people will be walking across it frequently.  Thinking about where your new flooring is going will help you to get an idea of what type of flooring will work best in that area. Don’t worry if you’re not sure – that’s what our flooring experts are here for! Pop into our Worthing or Storrington flooring showroom to speak to our award-winning team about what will work best in your home. Does it need to be low maintenance? A low maintenance floor is one that is easy to keep clean and looking nice. With more of us living time-starved lives, having a low maintenance floor is becoming imperative. So what are the options? Well, although hard flooring is a great option, they may need continual sweeping and having many carpet varieties are bleach-cleanable these days. Here at Wall Bros Carpets, we stock a range of bleach-cleanable carpets. A type of carpet that is made from polypropylene. A man-made fibre which doesn’t allow liquid to be absorbed into the fibre. We always recommend carrying out a small test with any harsh cleaning products before using them across a large patch in the middle of your lounge but, as the name suggests, bleach-cleanable carpets can really be cleaned with chemical cleaners like bleach. Ensuring that your carpet remains stain-free – even if you love having big parties, have muddy pets and an army of toddlers If you want to avoid carpet altogether, there are lots of different hard flooring options and each type of hard flooring is available in a huge variety of colours and styles. Vinyl flooring is always a favourite when it comes to durability and low maintenance. Not least because the variety of styles it comes in goes with most interiors.  Whatever flooring you’re looking for, our friendly team of flooring experts is on hand to give you the advice that you need to make sure you choose the right flooring. Pop into our Worthing or Storrington showroom to see our ranges and speak to the team.

What Flooring Is Most Popular At This Time Of Year?

Or – How to keep those toesies cosy with the right flooring! Believe it or not, Winter has only just officially started! While it may seem as though we’ve had the worst of the cold weather, the coldest months (January and February) are yet to come.  Many of us are trying to prepare for those colder spells and look at what we can do within our homes to stop heat from leaking out of them and make sure it’s that bit warmer.  Luckily, there are other ways besides central heating to keep our homes warm and one of the most effective is having good flooring. So what types of flooring are trending this Winter? Well, we’ve put together this short guide to give you some flooring inspiration! Carpet, of course! It’s no surprise that carpet continues to be the most popular flooring type all year round, but it’s particularly popular in these colder months. There are lots of different types of carpet, but by far the warmest are ones made from 100% wool.  A wool carpet used to be perceived as being ‘hard to clean’ but many now come with stain guard coatings as standard and all wool flooring is extremely hard-wearing. The carpet industry has come a long way since its humble beginnings and now there are thousands of different colour shades and patterns to choose from. We expect patterned carpet to continue to be popular, just as it was in Autumn.  While patterned carpet is a fantastic choice, it can be a daunting decision when it comes to which combination of colours or even what pattern would look best. That’s where our flooring experts come in. Pop along to our Worthing or Storrington showroom with a photo of the room you’re buying the carpet for or a sample of the soft furnishings that you wish to match the flooring to. Our experts will be happy to advise on which carpet will be the best match for both the furnishings and the room use. Don’t shy away from wood flooring As we’ve said in a previous blog post, wood flooring can actually do a really good job at keeping your home that bit warmer over Winter. Looking at The 2022 Winter Edition of Design at Home, we can see wood flooring being used a lot as a way to tie lots of different elements together.  Not only can wood flooring be a good option for warmth over winter, but it can also look great too. Giving your home a modern and stylish feel. What’s more, wood flooring comes in a huge variety of colours and styles so there’s bound to be something that goes with your home decor.  Why not pop into our Worthing or Storrington showroom? There, you can have a look at all of our wood flooring ranges for yourself and speak to our flooring experts. There are other versatile hard flooring options If you’re keen on having a wood flooring look within your home, but need a little more durability or even a less hefty price tag, there are other options.  We often advise young families who are after a wood look in their homes to opt for Luxury Vinyl Tiles, or LVT. Mainly because of the durability that this type of flooring offers and how low maintenance it is – perfect for busy parents and small children who may be prone to spills. What’s more, LVT imitates a huge range of hard flooring so there are lots of style options when it comes to choosing the right one for you.  If you love the look of wood flooring but are not sure about how well it will stand the test of pets and children, laminate flooring is another fantastic option. This type of flooring is not only easy to maintain but it also doesn’t scratch or scuff easily. Making it a perfect option for houses with furry friends. In a similar way to LVT, laminate flooring comes in a huge range of colours and styles too and we’re happy to show you all of the options. Don’t skimp on the underlay Whatever flooring you choose, spending a fraction more on the best quality underlay will increase your comfort underfoot, increase the lifetime of your flooring and also potentially save you money on fuel bills! Believe us, going ‘better’ on the underlay will be one of the best flooring decisions you can make. Whether it’s carpet, LVT, laminate or vinyl, we have thousands of flooring samples on display for you to see and feel in our Worthing and Storrington stores, so make sure you pop in and see us. We’re open most days and our award-winning team of flooring experts is on hand to advise you on what flooring is going to be best for you.  For more flooring advice and inspiration, follow us on social media. We’re on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.

4 Things To Think About When Choosing Your Carpet Colour

Summer is almost over and you may be looking to get a new carpet in anticipation of the colder months to come. Here at Wall Bros Carpets we, more than most, understand that the number of colours from which to choose can be overwhelming. Which is why we thought it’d be a good idea to write a blog post on how you can choose the right carpet colour for your home. Furnishings first Although we would argue that the carpet is going to be the most important thing in your home, it shouldn’t be the first thing you choose. In fact, we recommend starting with the colour of your furnishings.  The reason being that fabric colours are often more limited than carpet colours, so it’s best to start with choosing the colour of furniture and then finding a carpet to match. Rather than choosing a beautiful carpet that can’t be matched to any furniture. Once you’ve chosen your furniture, we can colour match the carpet so you can achieve a seamless look. As is shown with the natural colour palette used in the picture. Or, if you prefer, we can advise you on which carpet colours are going to provide a stunning contrast if you want to make a statement with your floor. Don’t limit yourself to one colour One of the most popular choices people make when choosing their new carpet is only going for one colour. Whether that be choosing one colour throughout their home or deciding on a carpet that is just one colour.  Having different coloured carpets in different rooms can really help to separate spaces; making them feel different to the rest of your home which can be really refreshing. Another thing to bear in mind is not all carpet is one colour, we’re not just talking about striped or patterned carpet. There’s also flecked carpet (or Berber as it was originally called) which is carpet that is mostly one colour but has ‘flecks’ of another colour. Many natural shades are actually made up of subtly chosen groups of fibres that are blended throughout the carpet. Not only can this be a very stylish option, it can also be an incredibly practical one too. A patterned carpet is also much more forgiving in a high-use room. Think about lighting No, we’re not talking about taking the perfect selfie! Thinking about the lighting when it comes to choosing the right carpet colour is important as the natural shadows created on the floor will bring texture and interest to the room. If the room you’re planning to put the carpet in doesn’t have a lot of natural light, a dark-coloured carpet is going to make the room feel even darker.  Whereas light colours brighten up a room and can even make it feel bigger. Which is one of the reasons why light cream or light grey carpet is so popular. If you’d like to opt for a neutral-coloured carpet, but you’re worried about it looking too ‘boring’, have you considered a textured carpet? Textured carpet is a popular trend at the moment and it can be great for adding an extra dimension to an otherwise normal carpet, plus it’s also lovely to walk on! Lifestyle before carpet Before getting too ahead of yourself, think about where the carpet that you’re choosing is going and what it will be exposed to. Is it going to be in a busy household with children and a dog? If that’s the case then we would recommend looking at mid-tones. Nothing too light to show any stains and nothing too dark to show lint or dog hairs. Saying that however, a huge percentage of the carpets we sell here at Wall Bros are bleach cleanable and extremely hard-wearing. So we’re confident we will have something that suits your budget, your needs and colour palette. Although we do accept that some children and pets are a real challenge for any flooring! We have thousands of different carpet samples in every colour and texture to choose from at both our Worthing and Storrington showrooms. Plus our friendly team of flooring experts will also be on hand to understand your needs and advise you on what will be best for you. Find out where to find us here.

Our Flooring Guide For Summer 2022

Our flooring guide for summer 2022

Over the last few years, neutral colours have been a strong flooring trend. From silvery greys to natural hues, people have been opting for neutral colours and adding splashes of colour to their interior with bold furnishings.  Recently brighter and more colourful flooring shades have begun to trend. Now we’re heading into the summer months, following these colourful trends to brighten up your home could be the refresh you’re looking for. That’s why we’ve put together our summer 2022 trends guide for you. So you can get all your flooring inspiration in one place. From colours and patterns to materials, we’ve got it covered! Colour Trends For Summer 2022 As we mentioned at the beginning, bolder and more colourful floorings are trending. Now the evenings are getting lighter again, it’s a great time to adopt the summer 2022 colour trends into your home or workplace. If you’re looking to refresh your home decor, then why not consider these four colour trends below? Yellow As a way to bring the sunshine in, yellows have been becoming increasingly popular as the weather changes. The great thing about yellows is that they come in such a wide variety of shades; from the vibrant shade, you see in the kitchen above to more soft and subtle shades in the kitchen below. If you’re choosing to change your wall or cabinet colour, it’s crucial that the flooring compliments those changes. As you’ll see from the first photo, laminate flooring is a great option as it comes in beautiful light colours. Alternatively, tiled flooring like in the second photo can be used to break up the bright colours and give the room a new look. Natural White Just like yellow, white comes in all different shades and in Summer 2022, natural white is going to be a popular choice. Natural white lends itself well to any other colour, meaning it can be used in any room in the house and with any colour scheme.  Bold-coloured carpets would pair really well with a natural white interior. Remember that flooring doesn’t have to be something that is overlooked. Instead, it can be a statement piece and be used to bring a pop of colour and pattern to a room. We think this natural white colour trend in Summer 2022 is a great opportunity to be bolder with the flooring. Deep red Like all trends, there’s going to be something for everyone and so are very varied. As you’ll see from the first two colours, one of the biggest colour trends for Summer 2022 is incorporating the brighter weather and bringing Summer into your home. However; there are other trends too and deep red is making a comeback! Not only have we started to see more people choosing dark red carpet, people are also choosing to change other elements of their home interiors to incorporate this strong colour. With brighter days on the horizon, darker colours can bring tranquillity to your interior. Flooring Trends for Summer 2022 Now we’ve given you a glimpse into the colours that are trending, it’s time to cast our minds to flooring and look at the types people are choosing. Of course, liking how your flooring looks is a crucial element to choosing the right one, but there are other factors involved. Such as, which one is best for your young family or which one is going to be easiest to clean? Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT) Vinyl flooring has become increasingly popular over the last few years. Mainly due to its extremely hard-wearing nature and the fact that it comes in almost any shade, colour, style and pattern!.   Many people opt for vinyl flooring as they want the look of wood or tiles without the price tag and, as technology has improved, so has vinyl’s ability to mimic these materials. The great thing about vinyl tiles is they allow you to create your own patterns if you wish. Offering a unique look to your home interior. On top of this, vinyl tiles are super easy to maintain and so are perfect for young families and people with a busy lifestyle… or people that don’t like chores! Laminate Just like the bright colours in the colour trends, people are choosing light laminates. Both residential and commercial interiors are beginning to reap the benefits of laminate flooring. It’s easy to maintain and continues to look stylish and modern.  Being hard-wearing, it’s a perfect option for high-traffic areas; such as hallways in houses and meeting areas in commercial spaces, like the photo above. There are lots of different shades available and so there’s bound to be a shade that suits your style and interior. Wide planks As suspected, herringbone flooring continues to be a huge trend as it’s a great way to make a space unique and stylish. But there are other wide-plank floorings that are also becoming popular and we suspect will only get more popular as we go into summer. This wide plank trend goes hand in hand with the rising use in vinyl flooring as vinyl planks allow huge versatility in colour and pattern. Another great thing about using planks is that they add realistic texture to the floor, making wood-style vinyl feel like real wood; for example.  If you’ve seen a look or a type of flooring that you’re interested in, get in touch with our flooring experts in Worthing or Storrington.
