The flooring industry is constantly changing in many ways; whether it’s the way the flooring is manufactured or new designs. There are always changes to brush up on; which is why it is important to us to attend different events and be informed on the latest innovations in the industry.

The Domotex exhibition – The World Of Flooring expo is a chance for suppliers from all over the world to showcase their latest products alongside other market leaders. From our point of view, the exhibition is a great opportunity to find out what the latest global flooring trends are and how that is changing from what is available currently. It is good to find out what the flooring trends are in other countries so we can predict if and when they are going to come to the UK.

What stood out to us at the exhibition?

Each year, the show has a main theme and this year that theme name was ‘ATMYSPHERE’ which aimed to highlight flooring products that help users feel a sense of wellbeing.

The theme was reflected in the creative ideas that exhibitors had about recycling, resource conservation, plus how we can use natural materials even more sustainably.

Comfy shoes are a must when attending such a large exhibition. We walked over 15,000 steps a day around the huge German exhibition halls – which over 2 days added up to over 50,000 steps or about 15 miles!

While walking however, we noticed lots of colour is coming back to carpet ranges; which will make a refreshing change to the creams and greys that are popular at the moment. Although we predict it will take about six months for that colourful carpet to reach us here in the UK.

We also noticed that there were more exhibitors showing their visualisation and planning software. It’s interesting to see how the themes and focus for each show changes as technology and demand changes.

Keeping up with the latest flooring industry trends and products is the key to being able to give our customers the best advice when it comes to choosing flooring. We walk miles so our customers can walk miles on the right flooring for them.
